Annie Sloan {paris grey} china cabinet
I have a friend who recently opened her own day spa and we agreed to exchange talents. Facials for painting – sounded awesome to me!!!
what you’ll need:
Annie Sloan chalk paint {your favorite color}
Annie Sloan {black, dark or white} wax {optional}
Annie Sloan wax brush {two – if you are using more than one wax}
Lint free cloths
Dirtex {multi-surface cleaner}
how to: another way to distress
{a gentle distressing method to rub away one or more colors, creating a worn look }
- Apply two coats of Chalk Paint®, moving the brush in all directions. Use two {optional – I only used one color on this piece} different coordinated colors as first and second coats. Apply the second coat thinner than the first.
- When the paint is dry, gently rub the surface with a damp kitchen sponge, removing the paint from the edges and other details to reveal the underlying color. Occasionally, wipe away any “slush” on the surface.
- When the paint is dry, apply Clear Soft Wax and remove the excess wax with a clean cloth.
- {optional} Apply Dark Soft Wax with a lint-free cloth or brush, working it into any nooks and crannies. Wipe off excess wax with a clean lint-free cloth. Use another clean cloth or brush and apply a small amount of Clear Soft Wax to remove some of the dark wax from surface. Wipe off excess wax and let the remaining wax dry.
- When the wax is dry, gently buff with a clean soft cloth to a lovely sheen.
Don’t be scared go for it… It would be hard to mess up. Now, go get some paint and have fun!!
