bedroom makeover… {update}

Life has been a little…maybe a lot crazy.  I feel like my brain is spinning with ideas, but I just can’t seem to get anything else in gear.  So, I thought I would re-post one of my very first post with a few updates.

I’m sure if you like me your ready for a fresh new start in 2017.  Of course I make goals like everyone else… lose 10 pounds, get out of debt, more Dave Ramsey, cook at home more and overall just simplify life.

I have been wanting to “simplify” my decor, too.  There is a store locally Gracefully Done.   It is like heaven on earth, for me at least.   They specialize in French County with a JoAnna Gaines twist.  Right up my alley.

I was in love with these pillows as soon as I saw them, all from Gracefully Done.  The back linen pillows are Tourmaline Homes.  The cream pillow shams are from POM POM at Home the Charlie collection and the patterned shams are Amity Home  from the Riva collection.

The finishing piece was the “blessed” pillow I found from Defined by Darla. How AWESOME!! is it.  All of her creations are handmade.

updates…

I found these lamps at Hobby Lobby one week when they were having lamps 40% so I got them for little of nothing.  YAY!!   They always have great lamps.

tip….When I get bored with a piece of furniture or decorative items, I take whatever it is of out of the room.   Almost like a clean slate… Then I  start looking around my house for what I already have that might could be moved, repainted etc.   Before you know it you’re re-purposing what you have and it looks like you went shopping.

tip… The wall sconce below.   I added a little Annie Sloan chalk paint to give it a more updated look.  The same with the frames that are hanging.

tip… When you look around my house you’ll see books used for decoration.  My favorite are the Readers Digest.  I pick up most of them at the thrift store.  As you can tell from the pictures in this post I like to give height to items.  Everything being on the sale level is not eye catching.

Psalm 62:1-2 “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
